Reliability In Design – Training Programme

Work in process and project design? Are you applying sound Reliability practises throughout each and every part of your work?

Having worked globally across many industry types, we have seen numerous asset management programmes and associated project plans that were designed with the best of intentions, but then failed to deliver the long-term sustainable improvements that they were initially designed to achieve.

Here at PRS, we’ve taken our years of experience in the world of reliability, and the insights we’ve gained working with a host of varied organisations, to compile the ultimate reliability solution.

Reliability Focus ™ is that solution. A range of five programmes that address the key elements of an organisation’s reliability journey, helping to create a reliability-focused culture across the whole business.

These programmes were designed to make each department and the individuals within them, accountable for their part to play in reliability assurance.

To help visualise the importance of an organisation-wide reliability initiative, with all employees pulling in the same direction to achieve a common goal of sustainable reliability and a reliability-focused culture, just picture a viaduct.

The viaduct has 7 pillars, giving it supporting strength. Each of these pillars represents an organisational department, key to the business’s reliability journey.

Design, Purchasing, Installation, Storage, Operations, Maintenance, and Planning are the solid foundations (or pillars of the viaduct) within the organisational culture of a business, that must be aligned in order to create a living process of reliability.

The Programme

This blog explores “Reliability in Design”, one of five training programmes from our Reliability Focus ™ range. Like the other four programmes belonging to this solution, “Reliability in Design” was created for engineering professionals in the process design field, and designed by our reliability specialists, to help light the path of the reliability journey from their unique perspective.

Our Reliability in Design Programme looks at the elements required to ensure that reliability is incorporated and challenged during the design phase of a project or during new equipment acquisition.

It ensures that a successful commercial operation is the project objective, not just mechanical completion to cost and delivery milestones.

Maximising equipment effectiveness by design, at the lowest possible cost, and giving you full control over risk, “Reliability in Design” drives a culture of accountability, control and process development/improvement.

PRS can support your project to ensure the needs of reliability are being met at each stage of the process.

This ensures that when handover is completed, the right maintenance is being performed on the right equipment, at the right time, by the right people, who are now trained sufficiently to deliver the company targets.
